Lustrous Eventide Greatsword — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Lustrous Eventide Greatsword is a two-handed sword from the arsenal of the Lightforged draenei, added to World of Warcraft in the Legion expansion alongside patch 7.3 and the Argus zone. It is a massive blade of austere Lightforged craftsmanship: a broad blade in a cold, silvery-blue hue, golden trim on the crossguard, and a pommel shaped like a crystal of the Light. The "Eventide" in its name points to the cold, bluish-twilight color scheme — the sword has a paired variant in the warm tones of "daybreak."
The weapon belongs to the Army of the Light aesthetic and fits perfectly into the looks of paladins, warriors, and death knights centered on the theme of the Light and the fight against the Legion. Despite its nominal item level, the sword's value is purely cosmetic: people seek it out for its appearance for transmogrification.
Source
The sword does not drop directly. It is part of an appearance set unlocked by the meta-achievement Commander of Argus.
- The achievement requires you to kill 60 rare enemies across all of Argus — on Krokuun, Mac'Aree, Eredath, and the Antoran Wastes.
- The reward for the achievement is the item
Arsenal: Weapons of the Lightforged, which adds all of the Lightforged weapon appearances to your collection at once, including this sword. - The achievement and the set are account-bound: by earning them on one character, you unlock the appearance for all of your characters.
- Argus rare enemies spawn on timers and often require a group, or at least the help of other players, on older content, but at current level Argus can be cleared solo with no trouble.
- There is no attempt limit: the achievement builds up gradually as you take down the rare mobs on the list.
To reach Argus, you need to complete the introductory storyline of patch 7.3 on the Broken Isles — after it, the path to Argus opens via the Broken Shore and the spaceship Vindicaar.
Who It Suits Visually
- It harmonizes with plate sets in the silvery-gold palette of the Army of the Light and with Lightforged draenei-style looks.
- It looks great in paladin and warrior sets with an emphasis on the theme of the Light and holy fire.
- The cold, bluish-silver sheen pairs with gear in icy and celestial tones — for example, for a frost death knight themed build.
- It works in contrast with dark armor: the bright blade stands out against black or crimson plate.
- For a fully "warm" look, it is better to take the paired daybreak sword — the two eventide and daybreak swords are designed as a pair of opposing hues.
Tips
Install an addon or watcher in advance to track Argus rare enemies — they spawn on timers and are often scattered across the map.
Many rare mobs are tied to the daily cycle of the Argus zones, so it is not always possible to fully complete the achievement in a single day — plan for several runs.
At current level, the sword and the whole set can be farmed solo: Argus rare enemies have long ceased to be a threat, and no group is needed.
Once you obtain the Lightforged weapon set, you immediately unlock all the variants — one-handed swords, two-handed swords, staves, and shields in the same style, so a single run gives you a wide selection of appearances.
Check your achievement log for progress on the rare list — it shows which of the 60 targets you have not yet killed.
Since the set is account-bound, it is enough to complete the achievement on one convenient character — for example, a class with high mobility for fast travel between rare spawn points.
