Lustrous Eventide Staff — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Lustrous Eventide Staff is a two-handed staff from the Army of the Light weapon set, added in Legion with patch 7.3. It is a long, golden-white shaft topped with a lightforged steel crystal that gives off a soft glow. The model follows the same style as all Lightforged draenei gear: warm metal, ornate engraving, and Holy light instead of the rune patterns typically seen on mage weapons.
The staff belongs to the "eventide" branch — the darker, sunset-amber variant of the palette. Its counterpart, the "dawn" version, is colored in cool white-blue tones. The appearance suits any class that uses staves: priests, mages, warlocks, shamans, druids, and monks. The item's stats have long been outdated, but as a transmog the staff remains one of the cleanest "holy" silhouettes in the game.
Source
The appearance is not unlocked by the staff itself dropping, but by the item
Arsenal: Weapons of the Lightforged. It is the reward for the achievement Commander of Argus.
To earn the achievement, you need to kill a set of rare elites scattered across all three zones of Argus — Krokuun, Eredath, and the wastes of Antoran. The rare elites appear on the planet's surface and are marked on the map as you explore; many of them are tied to the daily invasion cycle and the landing points from the ship Vindicaar.
Key farming details:
- The achievement is account-wide — you complete it once on a character, and the appearance unlocks for the entire account immediately.
- When you complete the achievement, you automatically receive
Arsenal: Weapons of the Lightforged. Only the weapon your current class can wield is added to your appearance collection; the other models unlock once you take the item on a character of a suitable class at level 45 or higher. - No group is needed. Argus rare elites are killed solo without trouble at current level, but some require you to come back over several game days — part of them appear only during certain invasion events.
- There is no hard limit on attempts: a rare elite you missed can be finished off on your next visit.
Who it suits visually
- Looks in the style of the Army of the Light and Lightforged draenei — the staff perfectly complements plate sets with golden engraving and Holy radiance.
- Holy-specialization priests and paladins — the warm "eventide" palette echoes the golden-white aesthetic of the Light.
- Builds in white-gold and amber tones — the staff works as an accent piece next to cloth and mail sets in the same shades.
- Contrasting looks — next to the dark armor of the Fel, the golden crystal stands out as a striking thematic accent of "light against the Legion."
Tips
Before hunting the rare elites, reveal the entire map of all three Argus zones — many targets appear only in explored areas.
It is most convenient to farm on a class with high mobility: the rare elites are spread far apart, and moving between the Vindicaar's landing points saves a lot of time.
Some rare elites are tied to active invasion points and surface events — if a target does not appear, check whether the needed event is currently running and come back later.
Complete the achievement on the class whose weapon you need right now: appearances that do not fit your current class will still be saved for alts at level 45 and above.
Alongside hunting the elites, you can easily knock out other Argus rewards — zone exploration, pets, and toys drop along the same route.
If a certain rare elite stubbornly refuses to appear, do not waste time waiting in one spot — keep going on your route and return to it the next game day.
