Magister's Valediction — Transmog Set Guide

Magister's Valediction is an epic-quality two-handed mace added in the Midnight expansion. It is a crafted weapon forged by a blacksmith: a massive headed hammer in a dark-purple palette with golden facets, designed in the aesthetic of the blood elves and Silvermoon. The silhouette reads well at long range and fits any "magister" concept.

The weapon carries Intellect and Stamina, so the model looks especially natural in the hands of specializations that use Intellect two-handed maces — druids, shamans, and paladins in healing and support roles. For transmogrification the stats do not matter: once bound, the item unlocks its appearance for the wardrobe.

The model's main value is its nod to the Quel'Danas storyline in Midnight and to the classic image of the high elves. If you are assembling a set in purple-and-gold tones, this mace fills the two-handed weapon slot with one of the most thematically consistent models of the season.

Magister's Valediction does not drop directly — it is a blacksmithing product. To get the appearance you must either craft the item yourself or order it from another player with leveled Midnight Blacksmithing.

Crafting requires a plan — Plans: Magister's Valediction. It drops from L'ura, the final boss of the "March on Quel'Danas" raid (the encounter is called "Descent of Night"). The raid is located on the island of Quel'Danas, north of Silvermoon; the entrance is near the Sunwell Plateau.

• The plan drops from L'ura on any raid difficulty, so you can go for the appearance even in Raid Finder.
• The finished item is bound on pickup, but the appearance is also unlocked for those who obtained the mace through an order from a master blacksmith.
• The plan itself requires Midnight Blacksmithing skill to learn, so you will have to craft it on a blacksmith character or turn to another player.

Crafting Reagents

The main expense is Sparks of Creation: four per item, and they accumulate weekly, so plan your craft ahead of time.

Magister's Valediction has no known color variations (recolors) — it is a standalone crafted model of the season. If you want a two-handed hammer with a similar silhouette in dark-purple or elven tones, look at other Midnight Blacksmithing crafted weapons from the same reagent set — the line of "Silvermoon" products is kept in a single style.

• Look for similar models among the current season's blacksmithing two-handed maces — they use the same alloys and weapon wrap as Magister's Valediction.
• For contrast, any weapon in a golden-white palette will work if you build your look around light armor.
