The weapon takes the ranged slot, so the appearance is available to hunters, as well as to warriors, rogues, and death knights who want the gun as a cosmetic piece for their look. In terms of power the item has long been irrelevant, but as a transmog model it remains one of the most distinctive "titan" guns in the game.

Magnetized Projectile Emitter drops from the XT-002 Deconstructor, a mechanical boss in the Ulduar raid, located in the Storm Peaks.

XT-002's hard mode is triggered by destroying the boss's heart during the vulnerability phase rather than stunning it. After that, XT-002 gains a buff and starts dropping "hard" loot, including this gun.
