Maruuk Battle Standard — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Maruuk Battle Standard is a two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft in the Dragonflight expansion. Its silhouette isn't a classic arcane rod but a ceremonial Maruuk centaur battle banner: a haft topped with a standard, fitted with bone and leather pieces in an earthy palette. The model is rendered in muted brown-grey tones with cream accents, tying it to the martial aesthetic of the steppe tribes rather than to bright magical staves.
The item belongs to the staff category and is available to caster classes — mages, druids, priests, shamans, warlocks, monks and evokers. It is a green common-quality item sought after purely as a transmog appearance: its stats have long been irrelevant, while the model itself remains a solid pick for savage and tribal sets.
Source
The Maruuk Battle Standard drops from the object Chest of the Elements — the reward for completing the Primalist Future scenario. It is not a reward from the Maruuk centaur reputation: the faction's vendors do not sell this staff, and it is obtained only from the chest at the end of the scenario.
How to get there and start it:
- The scenario takes place in the subzone The Primalist Future, a timeways version of the Thaldraszus region.
- You can reach it through the golden portal at the Timeways Convergence in the southeast of Thaldraszus, around the coordinates
/way 60.5 83. - Once there, interact with the object Elemental Bound Chest near the coordinates
/way 27.9 25.6to begin the scenario. - During the scenario you need to fend off several waves of enemies and defeat the final foe, after which the Chest of the Elements opens.
- The staff is only one of the possible appearance items in the chest, so several runs may be required.
The scenario is short and easily completed solo at current level, so farming the appearance comes down to drop luck alone.
Who it suits visually
- It harmonizes with leather and bone sets in a brown-beige range — tribal and savage kits.
- It looks great in builds that evoke the steppe nomads and the Maruuk centaurs from Dragonflight.
- It contrasts with bright magical cloth sets — a debatable but distinctive choice for priests and warlocks.
- It suits shamans and druids who need a natural battle staff without overt magical glow.
- It complements beast hunter and ranger looks thanks to the standard topper.
Tips
The Primalist Future scenario starts manually through the Elemental Bound Chest — without activating it, the scenario won't begin.
Bring a current-level character: the enemy waves and the final foe go down fast, and a run takes mere minutes.
The appearance from the Chest of the Elements doesn't drop guaranteed, so plan for several attempts.
It's most convenient to farm on a class with high mobility and good area damage to clear the waves faster.
The chest can also contain other Dragonflight loot, so repeat runs aren't wasted.
After you get the appearance, log it into your transmog collection — the staff's stats themselves don't matter.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
