Overview

Marvel of Technomancy

Game iconMarvel of Technomancy is an epic two-handed staff added in The War Within with patch 11.2 alongside the Manaforge Omega raid. The model is built around a dark, ethereal palette: an elongated metal shaft with engraved runic inlays is crowned by an energy finial that radiates a cold glow. The silhouette echoes the architecture of the manaforge and the aesthetic of K'aresh, so the staff reads as part of the technological arsenal of the forge-world's arcanists.

The item's stats are built around agility rather than intellect: it is wielded by specializations that use agility two-handed staves — druid, hunter and monk. For transmog this is convenient: a single model covers several agility looks at once, where a two-handed staff is typically used.

Source

The staff drops in the Manaforge Omega raid — the final raid of The War Within, located on K'aresh. The drop source is the fourth boss, Forgeweaver Araz.

  • The boss unlocks after the first three raid bosses are defeated and is the fourth in order.
  • The item is available on all raid difficulties: Looking For Raid, Normal, Heroic and Mythic modes.
  • The item level scales with difficulty, but the model and appearance are identical across all versions, so for transmog any one is enough.
  • This is a raid drop with no guarantee: the staff drops randomly from Forgeweaver Araz's loot, so several weekly runs may be needed.
  • The attempt limit is standard raid policy: one lockout per character per week for each difficulty.

Who it suits visually

  • It fits the ethereal-technological sets of Manaforge Omega — the staff is built in the same blue-purple energy range as the season's raid sets.
  • It harmonizes with looks in dark-blue and cold tones thanks to the glowing finial.
  • It contrasts with natural, "beastly" druid sets — a debatable but expressive choice for a techno-styling of a feral or guardian.
  • It pairs well with mechanistic and arcane concepts where the theme of energy and runes matters.

Tips

1

The optimal farming method is a weekly run into Manaforge Omega up to Forgeweaver Araz; on outdated difficulties it can be cleared with a small group.

2

On Normal and Looking For Raid the boss dies noticeably faster, so for transmog choose the lowest available difficulty.

3

Assemble a raid of several characters: each gets a separate chance at the drop on their own weekly lockout.

4

Check the loot from the same bosses — Manaforge Omega also drops other agility weapon models, including a glaive of destruction.

5

The staff is bind-on-pickup, so you cannot pass it to another character — farm it on the hero you need.

6

The appearance unlocks in the collection after you obtain any version of the item, after which it can be applied to any suitable two-handed weapon.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
