Overview

Shadowblade's Baneful Omen

Game iconShadowblade's Baneful Omen is an epic ground and flying mount added in patch 7.2 of the Legion expansion. It is one of four color variants of the Rogue class mount, purchased from Zan Shivsproket in Dalaran for 1,000 Order Resources.

Shadowblade's Baneful Omen belongs to the "Shadow Raven" model family and stands out with its venomous green plumage compared to the other recolors. When using the /mountspecial command, the mount performs a loop in the air and lets out a screech — a unique animation shared by all variants of the class raven.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is purchased from a vendor at a fixed price; there is no random drop chance involved
  • Unique Rogue model — the class raven is available only to characters of the Rogue class, making it rare among the general population
  • Venomous green coloring — the green variant pairs perfectly with Outlaw- or poisoner-themed transmogrification
  • Ground and flying — the mount works in both modes. Speed depends on your riding skill: up to +100% on the ground and up to +310% in the air
  • Account-wide — once learned, the mount appears in the collection of all your characters (only a Rogue can use it)
  • Extra mount for your collection — each of the four raven variants counts as a separate mount, bringing you closer to mount-quantity achievements

How to Obtain

Obtaining Shadowblade's Baneful Omen consists of two stages: first you unlock the base Rogue class mount, then you purchase the green recolor.

Stage 1: Get the Base Mount

  1. Create or take a Rogue-class character. The minimum level to complete the quest chain is 45 (via the Chromie system with the Legion timeline enabled)
  2. Complete the Rogue class hall campaign — Hall of Shadows in Dalaran
  3. Earn the achievement Breaching the Tomb. This meta-achievement includes a series of quests on the Broken Shore that unlock access to the class mount
  4. After earning the achievement, pick up the quest The Dreadlord's Spies from Apothecary Chann on the Broken Shore
  5. Complete the quest chain that ends with the task Hiding in Plain Sight. You will visit four Alliance capitals (the Exodar, Darnassus, Ironforge, Stormwind) and carry out espionage missions
  6. As a reward, you receive Game iconBladed Reins of the Dark Portent and the mount Game iconShadowblade's Murderous Omen — the base blue variant

Stage 2: Buy the Green Recolor

  1. Make sure the base mount has already been obtained
  2. Travel to the Hall of Shadows — the Rogue class hall in Dalaran
  3. Find the NPC Zan Shivsproket — she is located in the same room where Valeera and Tess Greymane stand
  4. Purchase the Game iconMephitic Reins of the Dark Portent for 1,000 Order Resources
  5. Use the item — the Shadowblade's Baneful Omen mount will be added to your collection

Where to Find Zan Shivsproket

Zan Shivsproket is located in the Rogue class hall — the Hall of Shadows, hidden beneath Dalaran on the Broken Isles.

How to Reach the Hall of Shadows

  1. Get to Dalaran on the Broken Isles (hearthstone, a portal from your faction capital, or via the Chromie system)
  2. Descend into the Dalaran sewers — the entrance is by the canals between the Trade District and Tendelock Alley
  3. Inside the sewers, find the secret passage to the Hall of Shadows. If you have previously completed the order hall quests, the path will open automatically
  4. Zan Shivsproket stands in the main hall, next to Valeera Sanguinar and Tess Greymane

Coordinates

/way 56 38 Zan Shivsproket (sewer entrance)

Note: Zan Shivsproket may be temporarily absent if she is engaged in an active follower mission. Wait for the mission to finish and the NPC will return to her spot.

Tips

1

Artifact requirement removed — originally, purchasing the recolors required unlocking all 52+ traits on the artifact weapon of the corresponding specialization. With patch 8.0 (Battle for Azeroth), this restriction was removed entirely

2

No need to switch specialization — since patch 8.0 you can buy all three recolors in any Rogue specialization without switching between Outlaw, Assassination and Subtlety

3

Order Resources are easy to get — at the current level (90 in Midnight), Legion world quests provide Order Resources in abundance. Resources also drop from chests on the Broken Isles and from command table missions

4

Run the campaign at a high level — the entire Broken Shore and class hall quest chain takes one to two hours on a max-level character. Mobs die instantly and dialogue can be skipped quickly

5

Buy all four variants at once — if you have enough resources (3,000 for three recolors), purchase all variants in a single visit. Each counts as a separate mount in your collection

6

Check for the NPC — if Zan Shivsproket isn't there, check the command table: she may have been sent on a mission as a follower. Wait for the mission to finish or recall her

7

Use the Chromie system — if you are leveling a new Rogue, activate the Legion timeline via Chromie in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. This grants access to the Broken Isles and Dalaran content

8

The mount works everywhere — even though Shadowblade's Baneful Omen is a Legion class mount, it works in all zones and expansions, including The War Within. You can fly it in any zone where flying is allowed
