Miniature Winter Veil Tree — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Miniature Winter Veil Tree is a one-handed dagger of epic quality whose model is built entirely as a festive Christmas tree: a tiny conifer decorated with garlands and ornaments in place of the usual blade. It is one of the most recognizable "joke" transmogs in World of Warcraft: instead of a blade, your character holds a decorated fir tree.
The dagger suits every class that can wield this weapon type — rogues, druids, demon hunters, mages, warlocks, priests, shamans, and warriors. The slot is main hand or off hand.
Source
The Miniature Winter Veil Tree is a seasonal reward from the Feast of Winter Veil event. You can only obtain the dagger in December and January, while the event is active.
The appearance comes from the
Stolen Present container. This is a festive bag of rewards in which the dagger sits alongside pets, toys, and other cosmetic items. The tree drops from the bag rarely, so the farm usually stretches across several seasons.
How to get the Stolen Present:
- Pick up the daily quest You're a Mean One.... For the Horde the quest is given by Kaymard Copperpinch in Orgrimmar, and for the Alliance by Wulmort Jinglepocket in Ironforge.
- Head to the Hillsbrad Foothills, to the Growless Cave, and defeat The Abominable Greench. This is a boss-level group enemy — it is better to go with a small group, although a leveled current-level character can realistically take it down solo.
- After the fight, free Metzen the Reindeer and turn in the quest to the same NPC who gave it to you. As a reward you receive the Stolen Present.
- Open the bag and check its contents. If the dagger is not there, come back for the quest the next day.
The quest is daily, so over a single event season you can make up to several dozen attempts. If the event is inactive, you must wait for the next December — there is no other way to get this appearance.
Who It Suits Visually
- A perfect match for the festive Winter Veil sets — for example, the red and green festival outfits sold by the event vendors.
- It harmonizes with a green-and-red palette: the little tree echoes any sets in warm conifer and scarlet tones.
- It looks great in joke and themed looks — "holiday helper elf" sets, a New Year costume, or an outfit with cozy woolen socks from the presents under the tree.
- A contrasting choice for a rogue: instead of a threatening blade in the off hand, there is a decorated little tree — a noticeable comedic accent.
- It works as a prop for screenshots and winter-themed roleplay scenes.
Tips
The dagger is available only during the Feast of Winter Veil — plan your farm for December and January; the event is closed the rest of the time.
The "You're a Mean One..." quest can be completed every day, so do it regularly all season to rack up more attempts at the drop.
The appearance is account-bound: you only need to get the dagger once on any character, and it becomes available to all your heroes.
The Abominable Greench can be killed solo on a leveled character, but in the first days of the event the cave is usually crowded with players — it is easier to team up in a group and clear the loop quickly.
Besides the dagger, the Stolen Present contains pets and toys, so the daily farm is useful for other collections too.
If the appearance never drops during a season, do not be discouraged: attempts do not expire between years — continue the farm next December.
The tree model already has its own decorative effect, so you cannot apply a weapon illusion on top of it — keep that in mind when assembling your look.
