Armored Razorback

Armored Razorback is an epic ground mount added in patch 6.0.2 of the Warlords of Draenor expansion. It is a massive war boar clad in the heavy iron armor of the Iron Horde. You can obtain it from a Rattling Iron Cage — a special item that drops from four field bosses in Tanaan Jungle.

Each cage holds one of three Iron Horde mounts, and every cage gives roughly an equal chance of getting the boar specifically. The mount is still relevant in 2026: the Tanaan rares are alive, the mechanic has not changed, and thanks to the lowered requirements in patch 9.0.2 the boar can be used as early as level 10 with the basic riding skill.

• A bold, instantly recognizable silhouette: a massive boar in Iron Horde armor looks imposing in any location.
• It counts toward your mount collection and brings you closer to achievements like Mount Parade.
• Chasing it naturally leads to the Hellbane achievement — slaying all four Tanaan rares.
• The farm is fully solo and requires no raid, keys or reputation.
• At level 80 in TWW the rares die in seconds, so a daily run takes just 10–15 minutes.

• Character level: 10+ (the mount can be learned at level 10 and requires Apprentice Riding).
• Draenor access: a completed Warlords of Draenor intro and an unlocked garrison. If you have not been to Tanaan yet, start the "Assault on Tanaan" chain from the mission board in your garrison.
• Teleport: the fastest route is the garrison Hearthstone, then the portal to Tanaan Jungle via Lion's Watch (Alliance) or Vol'mar (Horde).
• Flying in Draenor is unlocked through the Draenor Pathfinder achievement and greatly speeds up flying between the points.

1. Fly into your garrison and grab the Hearthstone to shorten the trip in the future.
2. Open the Draenor map and head to Tanaan Jungle through the garrison portal.
3. Check the rare status with the HandyNotes: Draenor Treasures addon. If a rare is active on your shard, run to it first.
4. Visit the four points in turn:
   • Doomroller — coordinates 47, 52 (center of the map).
   • Terrorfist — 15, 63 (southwest).
   • Vengeance — 32, 73 (south).
   • Deathtalon — 24, 40 (northwest).
5. Kill the boss. At level 80 any specialization handles it in 3–10 seconds.
6. Collect the loot: if a Rattling Iron Cage drops, open it right in your bags.
7. If the boar does not drop and you get, for example, a Tundra Icehoof or a Warsong Direfang instead, keep the cages and run again tomorrow.
8. Repeat daily until you get the mount — every attempt is independent.

• Bring your alts: every character level 10+ gets its own 4 attempts per day. Five alts give 20 cage chances daily.
• Build a counter-clockwise route: Doomroller (47,52) → Vengeance (32,73) → Terrorfist (15,63) → Deathtalon (24,40). Flying between points takes about 2 minutes.
• Use the garrison flagpole with "Call to Arms" to pull allies onto your shard faster — rares respawn more often when players are active.
• A 5-person premade group via the Group Finder lets you clear everything in 5–7 minutes.
• If a cage will not open (a loot bug), relog: the item stays in your bags.
• The mount is not tied to a trading post and is not part of any rotation, so there is no point hoarding currency — just farm.
