Armored Razorback

Armored Razorback is a ground epic mount added in patch 6.0.2 of the Warlords of Draenor expansion. It is a massive war boar clad in the heavy iron armor of the Iron Horde. You can obtain it from the Rattling Iron Cage — a special item that drops from four field bosses in Tanaan Jungle.

The cage holds one of three Iron Horde mounts, and each cage gives roughly an equal chance of getting the boar specifically. The mount remains relevant in 2026: the Tanaan rares are alive, the mechanic hasn't changed, and thanks to the requirement reduction in patch 9.0.2 you can use the boar starting at level 10 with the basic riding skill.

• A bold and recognizable silhouette: a massive boar in Iron Horde armor looks imposing in any zone.
• It counts toward your mount collection and brings you closer to achievements like "Mountain o' Mounts."
• Hunting it naturally leads to the Hellbane achievement — killing all four Tanaan rares.
• The farm is entirely solo and requires no raid, keys, or reputation.
• At level 80 in TWW the rares die within seconds, which means a daily run takes 10–15 minutes.

• Character level: 10+ (the mount is learnable from level 10 and requires "Apprentice Riding").
• Access to Draenor: a completed Warlords of Draenor intro and an open garrison. If you haven't been to Tanaan yet, activate the "Assault on the Tanaan Jungle" chain via the mission board in your garrison.
• Teleport: the fastest path is the garrison hearthstone, then the portal to Tanaan Jungle through "Vol'mar" (Horde) or "Lion's Watch" (Alliance).
• Flying in Draenor unlocks via the Draenor Pathfinder achievement and greatly speeds up flying between points.

1. Fly to your garrison and grab the hearthstone to shorten the trip in the future.
2. Open the Draenor map and head to Tanaan Jungle through the portal from your garrison.
3. Check the rares' status with the HandyNotes: Draenor Treasures addon. If a rare is active on your shard — run to it first.
4. Visit the four points in turn:
   • Doomroller — coordinates 47, 52 (center of the map).
   • Terrorfist — 15, 63 (southwest).
   • Vengeance — 32, 73 (south).
   • Deathtalon — 24, 40 (northwest).
5. Kill the boss. At level 80, any specialization will take 3–10 seconds.
6. Collect the loot: if a Rattling Iron Cage dropped — open it right in your bag.
7. If the boar didn't drop and instead you got, for example, a Tundra Icehoof or a Warsong Direfang, keep the cages and repeat the run tomorrow.
8. Repeat daily until you get the mount — each attempt is independent.

• Bring in your alts: every character level 10+ gets its own 4 attempts per day. Five alts give 20 cage chances daily.
• Build the route counterclockwise: Doomroller (47,52) → Vengeance (32,73) → Terrorfist (15,63) → Deathtalon (24,40). Flying between points takes about 2 minutes.
• Use the garrison flagpole with "Call to Arms" to pull allies onto your shard faster — the rares respawn more often when players are active.
• A premade group of 5 via the Group Finder lets you clear them in 5–7 minutes.
• If the cage won't open (a loot bug), relog: the item stays in your bag.
• The mount is not tied to the Trading Post and isn't part of any rotation, so there's no point hoarding currency — farming only.
