Frostplains Battleboar
Overview

Frostplains Battleboar is a ground mount awarded for the Glory of the Draenor Hero meta-achievement. It is a snow-white boar in gilded armor with blue ribbons and spikes, added in the Warlords of Draenor expansion. In 2026, with level 80 being current in The War Within, all of Draenor's Heroic dungeons can be cleared solo in just a couple of evenings, so the mount has gone from a grindy trophy to a great target for collectors.
The mount is account-bound, works on any character, and requires only basic riding skill.
Why You Want This Mount
- A rare visual: a white boar in heavy gold armor stands out in any collection.
- A point toward the Lord of the Reins achievement and related meta-goals.
- Along the way you also close out dozens of Draenor achievements and 265 achievement points.
- The solo farm at level 80 is fast: most mechanics can be ignored thanks to your damage.
- It works on the ground and, once you've learned flying mounts, while flying (the boar itself is ground-only, but you receive it as a scroll and activate it whenever you like).
Requirements and How to Get In
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Character level | 80 (recommended for solo) |
| Riding skill | Apprentice |
| Difficulty | Heroic |
| Location | Draenor |
| Faction | Any |
| Binding | Account-bound |
You can reach the Draenor dungeons through the Dungeon Finder ("Any Heroic Draenor" mode) or enter manually via the portals in Orgrimmar/Stormwind and the zones of Draenor itself. At level 80 the bosses die in one or two hits, so the path you choose doesn't matter — it's more convenient to walk in so you don't wait in a queue.

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1. Preparation
- Level a character to 80 or take a ready-made one.
- Make sure Draenor is unlocked: completing the "Iron Horde" intro scenario is enough.
- Bring food along; a resurrection scroll isn't required — at 80 you almost never die.
- Keep free bag space for loot.
Step 2. First Run
- Open the Dungeon Finder and pick any Heroic Draenor dungeon, or walk in on foot — that's faster.
- Start with Bloodfang: three simple achievements can be closed out in a single run.
- Before each boss, check the list — some criteria require specific actions (for example, not hitting certain mobs until the right moment).
Step 3. Clear Order
The recommended route, by increasing difficulty and number of conditions:
- Auchindoun — just one achievement.
- Grimrail Depot — two achievements, quick conditions.
- The Everbloom — two achievements.
- Iron Docks — three achievements.
- Shadowmoon Burial Grounds — three achievements.
- Skyreach — four achievements.
- Upper Blackrock Spire — four achievements, including the famous "Leeeeeeeeeeeeeroy...?".
Step 4. Claiming the Reward
After you complete the last criterion, you'll receive a letter from the "Stable Master" with the mount. Use the item — it will immediately bind to your account's collection. Summon it through the standard mount menu.
Farm Optimization
- Take a class with high mobility. A Windwalker Monk, Demon Hunter, or Protection Warrior clears Draenor the fastest: many achievements require killing/not killing a mob within a certain window.
- Drop the group finder. A solo run is faster: no one hits too early and breaks conditions like "Monomania" (kill a specific number of specific mobs).
- Use a hunter's pet or a summoned companion for conditions that need a second "hand" (for example, reaching a lever).
- Reset the dungeon by right-clicking your portrait in the party frame if you miss a condition — you won't have to wait out the timer.
- Close it all out in one evening. At level 80 a solo run through all eight dungeons takes about 2–3 hours while reading the conditions on the fly.
Tips
Don't rush in Upper Blackrock Spire. The "Leeeeeeeeeeeeeroy...?" achievement requires you to wait for the goblin's shouts and only then enter the room with the whelps. Don't run in early.
In Skyreach, save water for the boss Ranjit — without the special "Water Management" mechanic it won't unlock.
In Shadowmoon Burial Grounds, on the boss Father Ash, the "Magnify... Enhance" criterion requires destroying only the small mobs; ignore the large ones.
In Iron Docks, for "Ready for Raiding IV", line up on the red markers before the wave of projectiles — solo this is easier.
Bring a tank or a repair bot with you: many Draenor bosses still hit pretty hard through your talent cap.
Check your meta-achievement progress through the achievement window (Y) — sometimes an individual criterion is counted incorrectly and requires another run.
You don't have to do the achievement in a single patch. Progress is saved between seasons, so you can close out one dungeon per week. After getting the boar, don't forget to also collect its kin — the whole collection of Draenor battleboars:
Blacksteel Battleboar,
Rocktusk Battleboar,
Armored Frostboar, and others. They are awarded for various types of content and complement each other perfectly.
