Wild Goretusk
Overview

Wild Goretusk is a ground boar mount from the Warlords of Draenor expansion, added in patch 6.0.2. It is sold for the in-game currency of the Saberstalkers faction in Tanaan Jungle and remains available in The War Within (2026) with no changes to how it is obtained. Its movement speed depends on your riding skill level and grants either +60% or +100%.
The mount shares its model with several other boars, but it stands out with an aggressive red-and-black coloring and long tusks.
Why You Want This Mount
- Collection value. Wild Goretusk is one of four mounts from the Saberstalkers faction, and it is a must-have for completing your collection of Draenor boars.
- Solo accessibility. Unlike raid or PvP mounts, Wild Goretusk does not require difficult achievements — all you need is time and reputation.
- Side rewards. While you farm Blackfang Claws, you simultaneously earn reputation, toys, pets, and other mounts from the same vendor.
- Achievement progress. The mount counts toward the overall achievements for the number of mounts collected, bringing you closer to rewards such as Minimalist and the like.
Requirements and How to Get There
Before heading to the vendor, make sure you have met the following conditions:
- Character level: 10 or higher.
- Riding skill: Apprentice at minimum.
- Reputation: Honored with the Saberstalkers faction.
- Access to Tanaan Jungle: a level 3 garrison and a level 1 shipyard built, and the Assault on Tanaan quest chain completed.
If you have a level 80 character from The War Within without a developed garrison, you will have to return to Shadowmoon Valley or Frostfire Ridge and complete the short quest chain that unlocks the garrison, then launch the Tanaan campaign. At level 80, all of this content is cleared in just a few hits, but the chain itself takes about an hour.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Unlock your garrison in Draenor. If it is not built yet, complete the introductory quest chain in Shadowmoon Valley (Alliance) or Frostfire Ridge (Horde) and upgrade your headquarters to level 3.
- Build the shipyard. It is unlocked by a quest given at a level 3 garrison. You need at least tier 1 to enter Tanaan.
- Start the Assault on Tanaan chain. Once the shipyard is set up, the captain will give you the introductory quests that lead to a landing on the continent and the construction of your own base — Vol'jin's Pride or Lion's Watch.
- Fly to Fang'rila. The nearest flight point is Vol'jin's Pride in the north of Tanaan. From there, on a ground or flying mount, head south, crossing the central part of the zone.
- Find Z'tenga the Walker. He stands at the entrance to Fang'rila, in the northern part of the subzone (coordinates roughly 51, 73).
- Pick up the weekly quest Rumble in the Jungle. It grants 3,500 reputation points and helps you reach Honored faster.
- Farm the elite saberon. Every mob in Fang'rila is an elite, and each drops Blackfang Claws (2–5 each) along with reputation points.
- Hunt the rare elites. The zone is home to The Blackfang, Gloomtalon, Krell the Serene, and Soulslicer — each grants 500 reputation and extra claws, respawning every 30 minutes.
- Accumulate 1,000 claws. This is the key goal: claws are not spent on reputation, they are only currency, so gather them alongside reaching Honored.
- Reach Honored. You will need roughly 21,000 reputation points starting from neutral.
- Buy the mount from Z'tenga. In his list of goods, select Wild Goretusk and confirm the purchase — the mount will instantly appear in your collection.
Farming Optimization
- Team up in a group. Every enemy in Fang'rila is an elite. At level 80 they die solo in seconds, but in a group you chew through a pack faster and wait less for respawns.
- Do the weekly quest on a fresh character. 3,500 reputation per week noticeably shortens the grind, especially if you are building reputation on several alts in parallel.
- Track the rares. Install an addon like HandyNotes or Rare Scanner — the rare elites give 500 reputation and up to 20 claws each, and their route is easy to clear in 10–15 minutes.
- Use the Warlord of Draenor's medallion. An item that grants +20% reputation with all Draenor factions, including the Saberstalkers, is highly recommended to wear while farming.
- Combine with other goals. Z'tenga also sells the Predatory Grunter, Fearsome Clawtooth, and Bog Armorsaur mounts, along with several toys and pets — do not spend your claws on the Wild Goretusk first if you plan to collect everything at once.
- Check the schedule. If a +100% reputation bonus is active over the Draenor continent (it appears during events), this is the perfect moment to farm the Saberstalkers.
Tips
1
Do not forget to remove the Warlord of Draenor's medallion after farming — it occupies the cloak slot and will weaken you in current The War Within content.
2
If you play a race with a racial reputation bonus (for example, a Human with Diplomacy), this will also speed up your reputation gains.
3
All Blackfang Claws are character-bound, so you cannot stockpile them on an alt and transfer them to your main — plan to farm directly on the character you want.
4
After the purchase, the mount becomes automatically available to all characters on the account.
5
Keep in mind that Fang'rila often attracts other players with the same goal — do not hesitate to join their groups through the built-in group finder.
