Overview

Domesticated Razorback

Game iconDomesticated Razorback is a ground mount added in the Warlords of Draenor expansion. It is a domesticated version of the ferocious Draenor boars: a massive beast with a distinctive grey hide, powerful tusks, and black stripes along its back. The mount is available to both factions and remains a pleasant legacy goal in 2026, on patch 11.1 The War Within.

The source is a purchase from the vendors of the Steamwheedle Preservation Society faction on alternate Draenor. You will need to reach Exalted standing with this faction, after which the mount is sold for 5,000 gold and 5,000 Apexis Crystals.

Why You Want This Mount

  • It rounds out the Draenor mount collection and helps with the "Mount Collector" achievements.
  • Along with the reputation you earn the "Conservationist" title and the exalted achievement.
  • It is rarely seen in the open world on current content, so it looks distinctive and recognizable.
  • Leveling it up runs in parallel with farming Game iconApexis Crystals, part of which will go toward paying for the mount.
  • At level 80 the entire Draenor content is cleared solo in mere minutes thanks to your character's enormous survivability.

Requirements and How to Get There

  • Character level: 80 (recommended so that the elite mobs in Highmaul die in seconds).
  • Riding skill: any ground riding.
  • Draenor unlocked: the introductory quest chain completed and a garrison built at the Dark Portal.
  • Reputation: Exalted with the Steamwheedle Preservation Society.
  • Currency: 5,000 gold and 5,000 Game iconApexis Crystals.
  • How to reach the farming areas: a portal to Stormshield (Alliance) or Warspear (Horde) on Draenor, and from there to Nagrand and Highmaul.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1. Unlock Draenor and the Garrison

If Draenor is not yet unlocked, go through the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands and complete the introductory chain. After you build your garrison, the portals to Draenor's capital cities — Stormshield or Warspear — become available.

Step 2. Travel to Nagrand to the Turn-In NPC

Fly to Nagrand and find the NPC Sallee Silverclamp roughly west of Lok-rath, at coordinates [50, 41]. She is the one who accepts items for reputation with the Steamwheedle Preservation Society. The faction's Draenor headquarters is usually right next to her.

Step 3. Farm Highmaul for Relics and Fragments

The open world of Highmaul in western Nagrand is the best farming spot. Run a circuit and kill the elite mobs:

While you circle the subzone, the mobs respawn, so the farm runs with almost no downtime.

Step 4. Farm Nagrand's Elite Mobs

Scattered across Nagrand are 9 rare elite creatures that drop quest items turned in for 500 reputation. Fragments also drop alongside these elites. Kill them along the way to speed up your progress.

Step 5. Turn In Items and Push to Exalted

Turn in all fragments and relics to Sallee Silverclamp. With full focus on Highmaul, the path to Exalted takes about 3 hours at level 80. The threshold is 42,000 reputation from Friendly to Exalted.

Step 6. Top Up Apexis Crystals

If you are short on crystals, complete quests in Tanaan Jungle, use an Apexis summoning amulet, or trade gold for Apexis through your garrison's daily quests.

Step 7. Buy the Mount

Once you reach Exalted, fly to one of the three vendors:

  • Kwilax Fuseshiv — Ruins of Na'gwa, Nagrand.
  • Mimi Wizzlebub — Warspear, Ashran (Horde).
  • Gazrix Gearlock — Stormshield, Ashran (Alliance).

Hand over 5,000 gold and 5,000 Apexis Crystals, use the item, and add the boar to your collection.

Farming Optimization

  • Apexis Bonus Event: during the Apexis Bonus Event crystals drop 200% more — plan your farming for that week.
  • Defiled Apexis Vessel: activated once a day, it doubles crystals from mobs in the area for a limited time.
  • Mass AoE: Warriors, Demon Hunters, and Feral Druids at level 80 wipe out packs of Highmaul elites in seconds — bring a character with strong AoE.
  • Weekly garrison missions: they give missions such as "Cleansing the Highmaul" worth 800 Apexis Crystals, so do not skip them.
  • Account-wide reputation: since 11.0 Draenor reputation is account-wide, so farm on whichever character clears elites most easily.
  • Reputation buff: the Mane-Lord's wisdom helm or a reputation banner bought from the garrison vendor speed up your gains.

Tips

1

Stock a batch of repair kits in your bags ahead of time: Highmaul elites hit hard if you aggro a crowd.

2

Keep a Garrison Hearthstone handy — emptying your inventory and selling loot speeds up the farm.

3

If the server has many players farming, hop between shards (by changing servers through a group): the mobs respawn instantly.

4

Turn in fragments and relics in batches: each turn-in is a long animation, and a stack of 10 turn-ins goes faster if you stay focused.

5

After buying the mount, do not forget to also collect the inv_giantboarmount_brownArmored Razorback from the same faction — it unlocks the same way, just a little later in the progression.

6

Use the Steamwheedle Signaling Device to teleport straight to the faction headquarters — it saves minutes between turn-ins.
