Predatory Bloodgazer
Overview

Predatory Bloodgazer is a ground mount in the form of a red-eyed falcosaur from the Broken Isles. Source: a reward from the Bloodgazer Reunion quest, which completes the 15-day chain of daily quests from the Bloodgazer Hatchling pet. Its territory is Azsuna. The mount is account-bound and, once obtained, is available to every character with the riding skill. It is one of a quartet of falcosaurs: besides the bloodgazer, there are the Snowfeather Hunter, the Greenwing Pricklenose, and the Sparkleshell Snapper.
Why get it
The Predatory Bloodgazer is a unique mountable raptor-bird model with bright red eyes: there is no other silhouette like it in the game. The mount is perfect for collectors (it gives +1 to the counter and counts toward the "Legion" mount-collecting achievement) and for anyone who loves unusual models. Along the way you will also acquire a battle pet of the same name, level it up to 25, and get acquainted with a world activity on the Broken Isles. An added bonus is that the chain can be comfortably combined with any current content: a daily takes 5–15 minutes.
Requirements
- Character level: 20+ (50+ recommended, so you can fly around the Broken Isles without trouble).
- Riding skill: Apprentice Riding.
- Access to Azsuna (Broken Isles, Legion).
- Flight unlocked over the Broken Isles (desirable but not mandatory).
- Time: at least 15 real days due to the daily quest limit.
- Gold: ~20–40 g for Azsuna Grapes and a few purchases from vendors in Dalaran.
Step-by-step guide
Fly to Azsuna and wait for the world quest "Bloodgazers!" on the coast. It rotates along with other Broken Isles quests, so check the map every couple of hours.
As part of this world quest, kill the Bloodgazer Matriarch (~35.6, 5.7). After her death, the NPC Orphaned Bloodgazer (~35.5, 7.5) appears nearby.
Buy a stack of Azsuna Grapes from Nehlissa Dawnsorrow in Azsuna (~47.2, 41.4) or from a vendor in Dalaran. Approach the orphaned bloodgazer and use the grapes — you will receive the battle pet Bloodgazer Hatchling.
Summon the hatchling. It will start handing out daily quests. There are 15 in total, one per day.
The main outline for completing the chain:
- Day 1: level the hatchling to 25 in pet battles.
- Day 2: show it off in your faction's capitals.
- Day 3: defeat specific wild pets.
- Day 4: complete 5 world quests.
- Day 5: complete 3 pet-battle world quests.
- Day 6: complete a rare-elite world quest.
- Days 7–12: pet battles, PvP quests, purchases in Dalaran, dungeons, etc.
- Day 13: kill a raid boss (old raids work fine).
- Day 14: win 3 pet battles with the hatchling on the team.
- Day 15: return to Alluvian Delta in Azsuna and turn in the quest Bloodgazer Reunion.
- Upon completing the final quest you will receive the Predatory Bloodgazer — the mount is added to your collection immediately.
Optimization
- Stock up on Azsuna Grapes with a surplus: if you miss the matriarch's spawn, you will be able to feed the orphan right away without returning to the vendor.
- Keep a set of level-25 battle pets in your bags — most dailies revolve around battles.
- Run the quests on several characters at once: the chains progress independently, but items and records move through the shared bank, which speeds up the overall collection of all four falcosaurs.
- Plan the "heavy" days (raid, rare-elite, PvP) for the weekend, and the light ones (capitals, purchases) for weekdays.
- If a quest requires a specific world quest that is not available, just wait a day — the chain will not break.
Tips
Do not delete the Bloodgazer Hatchling from your pet journal: it is precisely the source of the dailies.
The world quest "Bloodgazers!" may take a long time to appear — in the meantime you can start the chains for the other three falcosaurs in Highmountain, Val'sharah, and Stormheim.
All four world-quest starts follow the same pattern: matriarch, orphan, special food, pet, 15 dailies.
Make sure you have a free bag slot before turning in the final quest: the mount takes up a slot like an ordinary item.
After obtaining the mount, the hatchling still stays with you as a battle pet, and it also grants reputation with the "Talon's Vengeance" faction — a separate branch of Legion achievements and rewards.
