Get Phase-Lost Longsword
Overview

Phase-Lost Longsword is a cosmetic one-handed sword added to World of Warcraft in patch 11.2 of The War Within expansion. It is a bluish, translucent blade with a "slipping out of phase" effect: the edge seems to flicker between dimensions, leaving behind a semi-transparent trail of energy. The model belongs to the phase-lost weapon set found in the shattered world of K'aresh.
Like the rest of the items in this set, the sword has zero combat stats and exists purely for its appearance. It is Warband-bound, so the appearance becomes available to every character on the account at once.
Source
The sword is obtained during a phase dive — a special activity on the island of K'aresh that opened up in patch 11.2. It is not a drop from a specific boss but a random reward from phase orbs, so farming relies on luck and persistence.
- First you need to unlock the mechanic itself: complete the opening chapters of the "Ghosts of K'aresh" campaign up to the quest that grants the artifact cloak
Reshii Wraps, and then finish the introductory chain of dives in the oasis. - A phase dive transports you into an "unbound space" — an alternate phase of the zone with its own enemies, treasures, and quests. You cannot enter it without the Reshii Wraps equipped.
- Phase-lost weapon appearances drop from phase orbs. For the orbs to start awarding these appearances, the Reshii Wraps must be upgraded with the corresponding enhancement — until that point, the orbs only grant a temporary stat boost.
- The drop chance for any specific appearance is low, and there is no guarantee of the sword from a single dive. Each appearance is obtained only once: after you receive it, it is added to your appearance collection.
Why Collect It
The sword is part of the phase-lost weapon set, completing which grants the achievement Phase-Lost-and-Found. The reward for the achievement is the mount
Phase-Lost Slateback, so every appearance you collect brings you closer not only to the cosmetics but also to the mount.
Who It Suits Visually
- It harmonizes with sets in cool blue tones and with translucent, "ghostly" armor effects.
- It fits looks that play on the themes of the Void and spatial distortions — the K'aresh style.
- It contrasts with heavy plate armor in warm tones, putting the focus on the weapon thanks to the blade's glow.
- It looks great paired with other phase-lost weapons — a unified set gives a cohesive "slipped out of phase" look.
Tips
Before farming, be sure to upgrade your Reshii Wraps to the enhancement that unlocks appearances from orbs, otherwise the orbs will only grant a temporary stat bonus.
Farming happens during dives: kill enemies and collect phase orbs in the unbound space without sticking to a single spot.
Use the network of phase conduits to move quickly between sections of the island — this way you can cover more orbs per run.
An appearance is obtained only once, so after getting the sword, switch to collecting the rest of the set's items for the mount.
Return to the dives regularly: because of the random nature of the drop, several short runs work more reliably than one long session.
The sword is Warband-bound — there is no need to collect duplicates on other characters, the appearance unlocks for the entire account at once.
