Get Preyseeker's Spire
Overview

Preyseeker's Spire is a two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft with the Midnight expansion. Its model is built on the Void elf aesthetic: an elongated headpiece crackling with dark purple energy and a carved haft matching the Midnight campaign sets. This is a weapon from the new "Prey" hunting system, and its silhouette fits neatly into corrupted and arcane looks.
The staff is intended for intellect-using specializations: mages, druids, priests, shamans, warlocks, monks and evokers. For transmogrification this means the Preyseeker's Spire can be applied to any staff of the appropriate class, building out a spellcaster look.
Source
The staff drops as part of the "Prey" system, a seasonal activity of the Midnight expansion. Access opens after meeting Astalor Bloodsworn in Silvermoon: he hands out the starter quest Prey: Astalor's Initiative, after which the hunt table becomes active in Astalor's chambers.
- Completing a hunt grants a
Preyseeker's Adventurer Chest — that is exactly what drops the weapons, including this staff. - Hunt difficulty affects the reward level: normal, hard and nightmare yield an increasingly higher item track.
- Hunts also award the currency Remnant of Anguish, which is spent on cosmetics, pets and mounts of the "Prey" system.
- The first four hunts each week grant the bulk of "Hunter's Path" progress, so it pays off to clear those specifically.
- The drop of a specific staff is random — it is an ordinary piece of gear from the chest, not a separate guaranteed reward.
Who it suits visually
- It harmonizes with corrupted looks — the dark purple energy of the headpiece echoes the red and crimson recolors of the Midnight campaign sets.
- It suits mages and warlocks for arcane and shadow themes thanks to its cold purple glow.
- It pairs with Void elf cloth armor and any sets in a blue-purple palette.
- It stands in sharp contrast with the light "holy" priest sets — a debatable but expressive choice for contrast-based looks.
Tips
Unlock the "Prey" system through the quest from Astalor Bloodsworn as early as possible — the hunt table is needed for both mounts and weapons.
Clear four hunts each week: they grant the maximum "Hunter's Path" progress and the best odds at weapon drops from the chest.
Raise hunt difficulty to hard or nightmare once your gear allows it — a higher item track and more "Remnant of Anguish" currency.
You don't have to spend accumulated currency on the staff right away: weapons drop from the chest, while tokens are better saved for the system's mounts and cosmetics.
The staff is bound on pickup, so it cannot be passed to another character — open chests on the character who needs the appearance.
Check the look in your wardrobe right after receiving it: the model is shared by several "Prey" items, and a single drop may cover the silhouette you need entirely.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
