Safari Hat — Safari Hat is a collectible toy that applies a permanent Safari Hat buff to your character: all experience earned by your battle pets is increased by 10%. The effect works in the background — you don't need to keep the toy on your action bar or burn a cooldown before every fight. After activation, the hat goes onto a tiny 3-second cooldown and is ready to use again.

The toy was added in patch 5.1.0 (Mists of Pandaria, November 27, 2012) as an ordinary reward headpiece. In patch 6.0.2 Blizzard turned it into an activatable item, and in patch 6.2.2 the hat finally moved into the Toy Box and became account-wide.

The tooltip flavor text is fully in the spirit of Pandaria's exploratory romance: "Happy hunting!" By design it is a Pandaren naturalist's headgear — somewhere between a classic explorer's pith helmet and Hemet Nesingwary's colonial hat. Fittingly, it is tied to taming wild pets all across Azeroth.

• The cheapest and most powerful battle pet experience boost in the game. The +10% XP is permanent, with no consumables and no timer. Leveling a single pet from 1 to 25 saves you several fights with the hat, and during mass farming — dozens. It is the baseline "economy setting" for any pet collector.

• It stacks with other experience bonuses. The Safari Hat effect adds up with the Battle Pet Treat (+25%), the seasonal Pet Battle Bonus Event (+200%), Training Stones, and the passive Argus Camp bonus. On peak setups the total XP multiplier easily exceeds x4–x5.

• Cosmetic transmog. Although the toy itself grants no custom appearance, earning it is closely tied to the naturalist-hunter themed outfit and is often used in RP screenshots alongside Nesingwary-style mounts and Pandaren hunting gear.

The toy is awarded exclusively for the achievement Taming the World. You cannot buy it on the auction house — there is no actual item in your inventory; the hat drops straight into the Toy Box once the achievement is completed. In WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria mode it is not sold either — only through the same tamer's path.

Step 1. Understand what is required

The "Taming the World" achievement requires you to defeat all the master battle pet tamers across the five continents:

Once you complete all five local achievements, you automatically earn "Taming the World" (40 tamers), and with it — the Safari Hat in your Toy Box.

Step 2. Prepare your pet team

1. Level up at least three level 25 pets of different families. Universally useful: Anubisath Idol, Chrominius, Stunted Direhorn, Emerald Proto-Whelp.
2. Learn the attack types and weaknesses — every tamer battle is built around the "right" family matchups.
3. Bring Battle Pet Bandages — they instantly heal your whole team, with an 8-minute cooldown.

Step 3. Activate the starter tamer quest

1. Alliance — talk to Audrey Burnhep by the fountain in Stormwind

2. Horde — talk to Varzok in Orgrimmar

Step 4. Tour the tamers

Step 5. Claim the hat

1. After you defeat the last master, the achievement closes automatically.
2. Open Collections (Shift+P) → the "Toys" tab.
3. Activate the hat once — you gain the permanent buff.

Step 6. Leveling on alts

• The hat is account-wide.
• You only need to activate it once on each character.
