Sporebearer Fungal Strider

Sporebearer Fungal Strider is a massive ground mount from Midnight with two seats for useful companions. By default, a mail carrier and a vendor with repair services travel with its owner. You can unlock an auctioneer and a transmogrifier for an additional cost.

The mount’s main feature is the ability to choose which services are active. You decide which two companions appear when you summon it, and can change the combination by speaking to a special NPC in Harandar.

The mount becomes available with patch 12.1.5: the update launches in the US region on October 13, 2026, and in Europe on October 14.

The strider has a blue-purple body, a long neck, and a wide mushroom cap instead of a conventional head. Bright pink growths and glowing details stand out against its dark coloring. A saddle on its back has separate seats for its companion NPCs.

Shawena sells the mount and both optional upgrades. She is inside the Den in Harandar, in front of the portals to Silvermoon and the Voidstorm.

The marker points to the platform where Shawena and Hoshenna stand.

1. Prepare 5,000,000 gold.
2. Travel to the Den and find Shawena by the portals.
3. Buy the Sporebearer Fungal Strider.
4. Use the item from your bag to add the mount to your collection.
5. Summon it: the mail and repair companions are available by default.

Hoshenna does not sell the mount. She lets you choose its companions and stands to the left of Shawena.

All three purchases are available from Shawena. The additional items unlock companion options; they do not add more seats to the mount.

Buying everything unlocks four service options, but only two can be active at once. For example, the auctioneer and transmogrifier use both seats, so mail and repairs will not be available in that setup.

To configure the mount, return to Hoshenna in the Den, next to the mount vendor.

1. First obtain the mount and use any items you bought to unlock additional services.
2. Talk to Hoshenna.
3. Choose the companions you want from the available options.
4. Summon the mount with your selected service combination.

You do not need to buy an unlocked upgrade again each time you change companions. However, the selection itself must be made with Hoshenna, so choose companions to suit your activities in advance.

These are ways to use the unlocked services. The cost of changing your appearance, repairs, and auction transactions is not included in the price of unlocking companions.

The Sporebearer Fungal Strider is only sold until the end of the Midnight expansion. This restriction applies to purchasing the mount itself.

Purchases of additional companions and access to their configuration will remain available after Midnight. So the required budget to get the mount while it is on sale is 5,000,000 gold. You can save the remaining 2,000,000 for the auctioneer and transmogrifier later.

Once obtained, the mount remains in your collection.

Learning the mount grants the Feats of Strength achievement “Fungal, Not Frugal.” You do not need to complete a separate quest for this reward; it is tied to owning the strider.

The mount is a ground mount and requires Apprentice Riding. Standard mount restrictions apply: you cannot summon it in combat or in areas where riding is prohibited.

Before buying, decide which services you actually need. If your main goal is to have the auction house and mail together, the mount plus the auctioneer unlock for 6,500,000 gold is enough. The full 7,000,000-gold package is for access to all four companion options and the freedom to choose between them with Hoshenna.
