Swift Stormsaber
Overview

Swift Stormsaber is a fast ground mount of the night elf race, added all the way back in patch 1.11.1. It is a massive snow-white saber cat with silvery stripes, one of four swift sabers available for purchase in the capital. Visually, this beast differs greatly from ordinary night sabers: its light fur, blue eyes, and more powerful paws make it one of the most recognizable feline mounts of the Alliance.
The mount is sold by Lelanai — the saber handler of the Darnassus faction. To buy this saber, a night elf character simply needs to approach the vendor and pay a symbolic price. Members of other Alliance races will need to raise their reputation with Darnassus to Exalted. In 2026 the content is fully up to date: the mount can be obtained without any restrictions.
Why You Want This Mount
- Rare white coloring — among all Alliance sabers, this one has the lightest and most striking fur. It pairs perfectly with silver and blue armor sets
- Classic night elf mount — one of the first mounts added to the game. For collectors and vanilla fans, it is an iconic purchase
- Maximum speed — with the Expert Riding skill the mount grants +100% ground speed, meaning it is on par with the epic ground mounts of modern expansions
- Available account-wide — after purchase the mount appears in the collection of all characters on the account, including the Horde
- Mount achievement progress — it counts toward all meta achievements for the number of mounts collected
- Inexpensive purchase — the mount costs only 10 gold. The main "price" is the time spent on reputation with Darnassus, if you are not a night elf
How to Reach the Vendor
After the destruction of Teldrassil and the release of Dragonflight, the night elf mount vendors relocated to the new capital. In 2026, Lelanai is located in Bel'ameth — the city that grew on the branches of Amirdrassil in the Dragon Isles.
- Open the Stormwind map and find the portal to Bel'ameth. The portal is located in the Stormwind portal room alongside the other Alliance portals
- Go through the portal. You will arrive at the central square of Bel'ameth
- Find Lelanai near the pen of training sabers. She stands next to the riding trainer

How to Get Exalted with Darnassus
If your character is a night elf, you can skip this section: night elves buy their racial mounts from Lelanai without any reputation requirements. Members of the other Alliance races — humans, dwarves, gnomes, draenei, and worgen — will need to raise their reputation with the Darnassus faction to Exalted.
Option 1 — Tabard and Dungeons
The most reliable method is to buy the Darnassus tabard and farm reputation through dungeons.
- Head to old Darnassus. The easiest way to get there is via Darkshore: at the dock in Lor'danel there is a boatman who will ferry you to the accessible part of the old capital
- Find Moon Priestess Lasara — the Darnassus quartermaster. In present-day Darnassus she stands by the main fountain on the accessible part of the island
- Buy the
Darnassus Tabard from her for 10 gold. The tabard is available at Friendly reputation and above — if your reputation is Neutral, you will first have to earn the first few thousand points by other means - Put on the tabard and run normal or heroic Cataclysm dungeons. All reputation earned from killing mobs and bosses in the dungeons will go toward Darnassus
- Keep farming until Exalted — on average this takes 15-25 dungeon runs depending on luck and pack size
Option 2 — Daily Quests on the Broken Isles
Legion introduced daily quests that grant reputation with old factions. On the Broken Isles, in Dalaran, you will find an emissary who hands out contracts for old factions. The Darnassus contract grants a noticeable reputation bonus for every quest completed on the isles, letting you top up the missing points alongside any other farm.
Step-by-Step Acquisition Guide
- Check who your character is. If it is a night elf — head straight to Lelanai in Bel'ameth and buy the mount for 10 gold
- If your character is another Alliance race — first check your current reputation with Darnassus. Open the reputation window ("U" by default) and find Darnassus in the "Classic" section
- If your reputation is below Exalted, buy the
Darnassus Tabard from Moon Priestess Lasara in old Darnassus - Put on the tabard and queue for the dungeon finder. At level 80 any Cataclysm dungeon clears in 5-10 minutes and grants 50-80 reputation from bosses and mobs
- In parallel, take the Darnassus contract in Dalaran on the Broken Isles and complete quests on the isles for additional reputation gain
- Reach Exalted — track your progress in the reputation window
- Head to Bel'ameth and buy the
Reins of the Swift Stormsaber from Lelanai for 10 gold - Use the item from your bag — the mount will appear in your collection and become available to all characters on the account
Tips
Night elf is the fastest path — if you are just starting to think about a collection of Alliance racial mounts, create a night elf character and level it to 10. This will let you buy all four swift sabers for 40 gold and without a single minute of reputation farming
The tabard works at any dungeon level — reputation is awarded regardless of difficulty. For speed, choose normal Cataclysm dungeons: they clear in 3-5 minutes at level 80
Check reputation on your alts — if you have characters who haven't played in a while, their reputation with Darnassus may already be close to Exalted from old zone quests. In that case a couple of dungeons in the tabard will be enough
Keep in mind that old Darnassus is only partially accessible — to reach Moon Priestess Lasara, you first have to head to Darkshore and use the boatman at the dock in Lor'danel. There is no direct portal to ruined Darnassus from modern capitals
Order of operations for a collector — night elves first, then a single reputation grind clears all four sabers at Lelanai plus the racial sabers in Darnassus, and at the same time unlocks access to the Darnassus regalia and other transmog rewards
After purchase the mount is available to your Horde character — if you collect mounts on both factions of one account, acquiring the stormsaber adds it to the shared collection and unlocks it for Horde players to use in the open world
