Midnight Enchanting
Enchanting lets you improve weapons, armor, and tools, and craft oils, rods, and off-hand items. Unwanted gear can be disenchanted into materials for new enchants or for sale.
Most raw materials come from disenchanting:
Eversinging Dust,
Radiant Shard, and
Dawn Crystal. The separate Disenchanting path depends on your skill and its dedicated talents. Stats for ordinary crafting do not replace the Disenchanting specialization.
Where to Learn Enchanting
Trainer Dolothos is in Silvermoon City. Learn the base profession first if you have not already, then learn the Midnight version.

Quality, Stats, and Crafting Orders
Midnight reagents and consumables still have two quality ranks. Weapons, armor, and profession gear retain five ranks. Skill, material quality, equipment, and specializations determine the result; Concentration helps you reach the next quality threshold and regenerates over time.
- Resourcefulness lets you save some reagents.
- Multicraft yields extra results for eligible consumables and materials. It does not duplicate a single sword, ring, or chest piece.
- Ingenuity helps recover spent Concentration.
- Crafting Speed reduces crafting time but does not improve quality by itself.
Before placing an order, check the recipe, quality, optional reagents, and whether you've unlocked the required specialization branch. For gear with embellishments, account for the character-wide limit of two embellished items. The item level also depends on seasonal reagents, so check the result shown in the order window.
Specializations and Choosing a Path
The four trees unlock at 25, 50, 60, and 75 profession skill points. You can eventually learn every path, but your early Knowledge Points are better spent on the goal you have chosen.
To sell finished enchants, choose a recipe family and gear slot. To process unwanted loot, start with Disenchanting Delegate. For rod and tool orders, develop Transitories, Tonics, and Tools. These are separate paths and each requires its own Knowledge Points.
Spellbound Shatterer
This tree provides general crafting bonuses and improves
Shatter Essence. The ability consumes a mote and temporarily increases crafting stats; talents improve its benefits and duration. Responsible Resources provides Resourcefulness, Infinite Ingenuity improves Concentration and Ingenuity, and Multicrafting Meticulously adds extra results where the recipe allows Multicraft.

Disenchanting Delegate
This path is dedicated to extracting materials from gear. Dust Deliverer improves disenchanting of Uncommon items, Shard Supplier does the same for Rare items, and Crystal Collector does the same for Epic items. Invest in the branch that matches the type of gear you actually obtain. The purchase price of an item should be lower than the expected value of its materials after disenchanting.

Transitories, Tonics, and Tools
This tree covers oils, profession gear, and cosmetic transformations. Outstanding Outfits leads to Worthy Wands for weapons and Reputable Rods for profession tools. Excellent Expendables improves oils and unlocks
Oil of Dawn. Mastering Mirages covers transformations and visual effects.

Elevating Equipment
This is the main tree for crafting enchants. Thalassian Talents, Amani Augments, and Haranir Heightening divide recipes into three families. Each family has paths for weapons, rings, and chest pieces; helmets, shoulders, and boots; and profession tools. Choose a family based on the recipes you need, then invest in the relevant nodes to increase your skill.

Profession Gear
Use one tool and two accessories. Rare and Epic gear provide the same skill increase, but Epic gear has higher secondary stats. Place a Crafting Order for personal gear and provide the required reagents.

How to Earn Knowledge Points
One-Time Sources
- Crafting an eligible recipe for the first time grants a Knowledge Point if the journal lists it as a reward. Recrafting the same recipe does not grant this bonus again.
- 8 treasures grant 24 points. The map route is below.
A Question of Skill: Enchanting grants 10 Knowledge Points and requires 25 skill points. The book unlocks at Renown level 6 with the Court of Silvermoon. You will need Master Enchanter's Dust to buy it.
Echo of Abundance: Enchanting grants another 10 Knowledge Points. It is sold by Chell Shardpin for event currency and profession dust.
Source | Reward and Limit |
|---|---|
| Trainer Quest | |
| Open-World Treasures | |
| Treatise | |
| Disenchanting | Up to 5 |
For the trainer quest, you must turn in materials. Most professions let you earn Knowledge Points by completing three Crafting Orders; Enchanting does not. If the weekly quest is unavailable, check that you have completed the introductory Crafters Needed quest from Captain Fire Oath.
You can place an order for the treatise with an Inscriptionist. The limit applies when you use it: keeping several treatises in your bags will not let you claim multiple weekly rewards at once.
Darkmoon Faire and Catch-Up
During the Darkmoon Faire, the profession quest grants 3 Knowledge Points and 2 skill points. This is a monthly opportunity.
Shimmering Powder grants 1 Knowledge Point toward your catch-up total. It can drop from disenchanting once you've met that week's requirements: completing the trainer quest, collecting both treasure items, and earning the usual disenchanting rewards. Drops stop once you've reached the accumulated catch-up cap, so this isn't an unlimited source.
Knowledge Point Treasures
Each of the 8 treasures grants 3 Knowledge Points, for 24 total. You can collect them after learning Midnight Enchanting; they are one-time pickups and do not reset weekly or become available again if you relearn the profession. The coordinates below can be copied into TomTom.
