WoW Forever Fury Warrior — Guide (Beta Test)
About the Class
This guide is based on the World of Warcraft: Forever beta and covers gameplay up to level 20. The talents and combat tips are starting recommendations based on the trainers and talents available in the beta. They will be refined as testing continues.
Fury Warrior is all about aggressive melee combat: you build Rage with nonstop attacks and spend it right away, giving your target no room to breathe. The specialization suits players who like staying in the thick of the fight and turning spare Rage into extra damage.
The
Unbridled Wrath talent directly supports this playstyle by speeding up Rage generation — with it, leveling as Fury feels noticeably livelier.
Victory Rush unlocks at level 20: a free strike after a kill that restores 10% of your maximum Health.
Strengths
- Active melee combat that gains a lot from a single good weapon.
Battle Shout boosts the Attack Power of the whole group.
Cleave deals damage to multiple targets even at low levels, something many classes don't have yet.- Plenty of useful buttons:
Hamstring,
Shield Bash,
Demoralizing Shout, and
Disarm. - In dungeons while leveling, you will be the tank most of the time, even with a two-handed weapon in your hands.
Victory Rush, available from level 20, restores part of your Health after every kill.
Weaknesses
- Fighting several enemies at once is rough: after a fight like that, recovery takes longer than the fight itself.
- Very heavy weapon dependence — with an outdated weapon, the class falls behind.
Victory Rush is only available from level 20, and until then you have nothing to heal yourself with.- No way to speed up or get out of combat:
Charge only works out of combat. - At low levels, Rage builds slowly, and there isn't enough of it for every button.

Talents
Talent Notes
At level 20, you only have enough points for the top rows, so all of them go into the Fury talent tree.
Cruelty 5/5 — +5% melee Critical Strike chance, the simplest damage boost early on.
Unbridled Wrath 5/5 — a chance to gain extra Rage from a hit, a full 2 Rage with a two-handed weapon. It directly solves the main problem of low levels.
Piercing Howl 1/1 — a 50% slow on all nearby enemies. It is not part of the rotation, but it helps against several enemies and when retreating. Keep in mind that it costs Rage.
Ability Priority
- Keep
Battle Shout active at all times, and use
Bloodrage whenever it is available, ideally between fights so your Rage doesn't drain away - Open with
Charge — it only works out of combat, has a limited range, and can't be used point-blank. If the target has other enemies nearby, pull it with a shot from a ranged weapon instead
Demoralizing Shout on non-casting enemies reduces their damage, so you need fewer stops to eat
Victory Rush after a kill — the effect lasts 20 seconds, so don't wait
Overpower — available for a few seconds after an enemy dodges your attack
Rend at the start of the fight if the target will live through most of the bleed. Don't refresh it on a dying target
Sunder Armor once or twice at the start of the fight. Once the target is below 50% Health, new stacks no longer pay off
Don't spend Rage on finishing blows: if the enemy is almost dead, let your auto-attack finish the job and save your Rage for the next fight.
Fighting Multiple Enemies
At low levels, a Warrior's AoE damage is weak, so whenever possible don't pull more than one enemy. If you have no choice, it is faster to take one enemy out of the fight than to spread damage evenly across all of them. Paired with a healer, on the other hand, you can pull two at a time: more damage taken means more Rage.
Cleave hits a second nearby target, but it replaces your auto-attack and generates no Rage.
Thunder Clap and
Demoralizing Shout reduce incoming damage, but they cost Rage too, so use them as needed.
Important Abilities
Stances
Your stance determines which abilities are available to you and grants its own bonus. You can switch stances mid-combat, but all of your Rage is lost when you do — until you learn
Tactical Mastery and strengthen it with the
Improved Tactical Mastery talent.
Battle Stance — the main stance for questing and damage:
Charge and
Overpower only work in it.
Defensive Stance — unlocked after the class quest at level 10. Reduces damage taken and dealt by 10%, increases threat by 30%, and gives access to
Shield Block and
Disarm.
Best in Slot (BiS)
There is no BiS list for the beta yet. Forever has completely reworked dungeon loot and item stats, so Classic gear lists don't apply, and specific level 20 items will appear here once their sources are known. The best gear is expected to drop in dungeons and be crafted through professions, primarily Blacksmithing.
Stat allocation works differently too: sometimes an uncommon item turns out stronger than a rarer one. Compare items as a whole, not by quality and level.
For now, follow two rules: take the strongest two-handed weapon available, and always carry a shield and a one-handed weapon so you can swap to them with a macro when you need to interrupt a cast or tank.
Enchants, Gems, Consumables
Campfire Bonuses
Forever introduces a camp system: a campfire grants certain bonuses to everyone nearby. They don't stack with their player-cast counterparts, and in the open world they are weaker than the raid versions. The ones a Warrior benefits from:
Also worth mentioning is the Camp Tent from Leatherworking: it grants a bit of Rested experience, which speeds up leveling slightly.
Best Race
- Escape Artist removes slow effects and briefly grants immunity to new immobilizing effects — useful in both PvP and dungeons.
- Eureka! increases the damage of your next three abilities by 10% and reduces their Rage cost by 40%, so it works as an extra damage cooldown.
- Expansive Mind increases your maximum Rage by 5%.
- Engineering Specialization makes engineering devices more reliable — especially valuable if you pick up this profession.
- Blood Fury increases Attack Power by 10% for 15 seconds: a strong damage cooldown while leveling.
- Axe Specialization grants 1% Critical Strike chance with axes, so axes are worth more to an Orc than other weapons.
- Hardiness reduces the duration of stuns by 20%.
- Shatter Curse removes curses, briefly grants immunity to them, and reduces magic damage taken.
Best Professions
The best combo while leveling: Mining supplies Blacksmithing with ore, and Blacksmithing fills empty slots with weapons and armor. Don't chase every recipe — compare the result with what you are already wearing, and spend materials only on real upgrades.
A strong alternative, especially for a Gnome with their racial specialization. Once Blacksmithing has given you the items you need, you can replace it with Engineering. Don't drop Mining too early, though: first gather enough ore to level both professions.
Cooking gives you your own food and saves gold, and any food that grants a buff now also gives 5% more experience. Fishing pairs with it and supplies the ingredients.
